ABOUT US
Hawai‘i Sports Radio Network (HSRN) is Hawai‘i’s first independently operated, fully digital sports radio station — locally owned, locally led, and built to serve the islands without the limitations of traditional terrestrial broadcasting.
Founded with a commitment to local storytelling and independent coverage, HSRN’s autonomy allows us to focus on what matters most: Hawai‘i’s teams, Hawai‘i’s athletes, and Hawai‘i’s sports community.
HSRN delivers comprehensive coverage across multiple platforms, including live play-by-play broadcasts, sports talk programming, feature reporting, photography, videography, and in-depth editorial content. From packed high school gyms to Division I football stadiums, from the State Capitol to community fields, HSRN brings fans closer to the action and the conversations shaping the future of sports in Hawai‘i.
Our team of broadcasters, journalists, and multimedia storytellers work daily to provide informed analysis, professional play-by-play coverage, and authentic local voices that reflect the culture and passion of the islands.
CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES
Business Development & Partnerships Manager
Full-Time | Base Salary + Uncapped Commission | Honolulu, HI
Hawai‘i Sports Radio Network (HSRN) is building the future of local sports media — and we’re looking for someone who wants to build it with us.
This is not a sit-back-and-wait sales job.
We need a self-starter who isn’t afraid to make 100 calls a day, hear “no” 20 times before lunch, and keep going. Someone who thrives on activity, believes relationships win long-term, and wants to help grow a digital-first sports media brand in Hawai‘i.
If you’re motivated by opportunity, ownership, and upside — keep reading.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
-
Prospecting and developing new business daily (high outbound activity expected)
-
Building strategic marketing partnerships across streaming, digital, social, events, and live sports coverage
-
Conducting discovery calls and in-person meetings
-
Creating customized proposals that solve real business problems
-
Maintaining and growing long-term client relationships
-
Representing HSRN at games, events, and in the community
This is a performance-based role. Effort matters. Activity matters.
What Success Looks Like
-
You enjoy hard work
-
You are competitive but coachable
- You thrive when expectations are high
-
You want to grow into something bigger as the company grows
What We’re Looking For
Sales or marketing degree and/or experience is helpful — but mindset matters more.
We care deeply about:
-
Drive and work ethic
-
Strong communication and presentation skills
-
Resilience and accountability
-
General knowledge of local sports and Hawai‘i’s business community
-
A genuine passion for community storytelling and local athletics
Understanding the teams, the schools, and the businesses that make Hawai‘i unique gives you a major advantage in this role. Our partners don’t just buy ads — they invest in connection.
If you’ve never sold media but you’ve outworked everyone in the room before — we want to talk.
Compensation
Base salary + uncapped commission.
There is real earning potential for high performers. The harder you work, the more you earn.
Why Join HSRN Now?
HSRN has transitioned into a fully digital sports media platform covering the teams and stories that matter most in Hawai‘i — from high school athletics, to local NCAA D2 schools, and University of Hawai‘i sports.
This is an opportunity to help shape something new and grow alongside a locally owned sports media company. As we grow, this role has the potential to evolve into a leadership position within the organization.
If you just want a job, this probably isn’t it.
If you want a challenge with upside and community impact, this could be the opportunity you’re looking for.
Interested applicants should apply by sending a cover letter and resume to Marissa Suehiro, Hawaii Sports Radio Network Business Manager (marissa@hisportsradio.com).
