PEARL CITY – The Mililani Trojans powered past the Pearl City Chargers in straight sets, 25-15, 25-15, 25-13, in an OIA West girls volleyball matchup Thursday night.

Pearl City started strong in the opening frame, jumping ahead 5-1 behind early kills from Harley-Jean Kamekona and Isabella-Rose Bayani. But Mililani quickly settled in, rallying with kills from Jaelyn Davis and Krislynn Bergantinos before taking control on a 10-2 run. Ivy Taylor proved unstoppable at the net, finishing the set with four kills to seal a 25-15 win.

In Set 2, Pearl City again kept pace early, highlighted by an ace from setter Emma Foumai and another pair of Kamekona swings. But the Trojans’ depth was on display as Maille Malone and Davis joined Taylor and Bergantinos in the attack. Back-to-back aces from Kwyn Greig and Harley Vila helped Mililani pull away to another 25-15 victory.

The Trojans left little doubt in the third. Kira Wayfer and Talia Mamea added to the offensive balance, while setter Kealananea Stephens spread the ball efficiently and chipped in two aces during a decisive mid-set run. Pearl City fought late with points from Aliyah Sarinas and Jaycie Kamakani, but Mililani closed it out 25-13.

Taylor led Mililani with a dominant all-around performance, combining kills and blocks at key moments. Stephens directed the offense with precision, tallying assists on nearly every swing, while the Trojans’ serving and back-row defense applied constant pressure.

For Pearl City, Kamekona and Bayani paced the attack, with Foumai anchoring both the setting and defensive efforts. Despite stretches of energy and strong serving, the Chargers struggled to contain Mililani’s balanced offense.

With the sweep, Mililani strengthens its standing in the OIA West, while Pearl City looks to regroup heading into its next match.
