Something positive to build on.
The Farrington girls basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a much-needed 30-27 win over Roosevelt at Richard Kitamura Gymnasium in the final game of the OIA East regular season.
The Governors improved to 5-5 in league play as they rallied from a 10-2 first-quarter deficit to get their first win since Jan. 4.
Hunter Garcia spearheaded the comeback with 14 points in the win to earn HSRN’s “VIP of the Game” award, which is presented by Fun Factory.
The victory earned Farrington the East’s fifth seed over the Rough Riders (5-5 OIA East), which means they will travel to face the West’s fourth seed Leilehua next Friday in the opening round of the OIA Division I playoffs.
Roosevelt will travel to West No. 3 seed Nanakuli that same night.
