WAIKIKI — Wednesday morning was the culmination of a lot of hard work for nearly 50 high school seniors at the annual Hawai’i State National Letter of Intent Signing Day.

With their family and friends gathered at the Honolulu Elks Lodge, the student-athletes from the class of 2025 signed their binding letters to their respective universities and colleges across the country.

The group included athletes signing to play baseball, softball, women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, golf, water polo, tennis, rowing and equestrian.

The event continued a 23-year tradition of annual signing day events in Hawai’i since 2001, that was first established by Doris Sullivan and her Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance (PIAA). Kawika Kane and the Aloha Kane Leadership Development Foundation is the latest organizers of the event.
