HONOLULU – What really are the hurdles (and helps) Hawai’i has in the college athletics landscape?
Matt Brown, founder of the ‘Extra Points’ newsletter and a national sports business insider, joined Wake Up in the Den with Ku’ulei Agbayani on Wednesday to discuss some of what he found during his visit to the islands about the off-the-field challenges that Hawai’i has faced as an athletic department.
Originally from Ohio, Brown has spent decades doing different jobs to help him provide a unique perspective on college athletics and the inner workings of the NCAA’s business side of operations. He has traveled all over the country, discussing many of the forgotten details of college sports in his ‘Extra Points’ newsletter.
He talks more about his background, multiple stories about Hawai’i athletics that he was working on during his time in Honolulu and pulled back the curtain on the process of EA Sports’ College Football 25 that put together one of the most anticipated games in recent memory.
