SALT LAKE — Nothing better than a senior night win.

Well, a perfect run through the regular season certainly is up there.

No. 2 Moanalua capped OIA East play with a 10-0 record after a 25-12, 23-25, 25-12, 25-15 win over visiting Kalaheo Wednesday night.

Senior outside hitter Zaria Queen led the way with a match-high 16 kills, six digs, two aces and one block to take home HSRN’s “Grinder of the Game” award, which is presented by Timmy T’s Gourmet Grinders Sandwich Shop.

Queen wasn’t the only Na Menehune senior that stuffed the stat sheet.

Four-year varsity player Jerney Tang-Silva had a double-double of 13 kills and 13 digs with two aces, Kaila Kalama-Bajet did a little bit of everything with 20 assists, nine digs, eight kills, two aces, two blocks and senior middle Chloe Fukumitsu had four kills and seven blocks.

Senior libero Natalie Fukumoto also had 11 digs and three assists, with a bump set leading to the match-winning kill by fellow senior Iana Benevides. Senior setter Jayde Taamu-Perifanos was also involved with the offense with 21 assists and three aces.

“We have a super talented team and the class of 2025 is huge, so my emotions are all over the place just getting to play one last game and being able to fight and battle for one last (regular season) game together,” said Queen.

The win wasn’t without some adversity however. The second set when Moanalua lost by two points was the first that the team dropped all season.

But Na Menehune took care of business the rest of the way to lock up the East’s top seed in next week’s OIA Division I playoffs. They will have a bye before playing a quarterfinal match next Thursday.

“I think we just figured out like ‘hey this is our last game,’ so we have to fight so having that sort of urgency and energy as our last game on this court, so we were fighting back for that part,” said Queen.

Jadalynn Satele-Filisi had a triple double of 12 kills, 14 assists and 14 digs to lead Kalaheo (8-2) in the loss. Jordan Kekauoha-Viena added 11 kills and Jazzahlei Satele-Filisi notched a double-double of 10 kills and 14 digs to round out the Mustangs’ attack.
