The Manoa Cup men’s title remains with Joshua Hayashida.

The University of Hawai’i junior fended off fellow Rainbow Warrior Anson Cabello on the second playoff hole Saturday at the Oahu Country Club to repeat as a state amateur match-play champion.

According to the university, it was the first meeting between two Hawai’i golfers in the Manoa Cup final since 1995, when Mike Pavao defeated Regan Lee.

The Rainbow Warriors were well represented in the tournament, with five of their players making the quarterfinals.
