Five-run third inning powers Hawai’i Pacific over Saint Martin’s, 5-3


WAIPAHU — The Sharks keep rolling.

Hawai’i Pacific did all of its scoring in the bottom of the third inning as they bested visiting Saint Martin’s University, 5-3, Wednesday afternoon at the Patsy T. Mink Central O’ahu Regional Park.

It was the Sharks’ third victory in a row as they improved to 8-1 to start the year.

Skylar Agnew hit an RBI triple to tie the game and scored the go-ahead run off an RBI by Kota Suzuki to get the scoring started.

Catcher Ian Wolski was the leading batter at the plate with three hits, which included an RBI to give HPU a 4-1 lead.

The Sharks used five arms on the mound to pick up the victory. Enrique Espinoza was credited for the win in four innings of work while Ryan Inouye closed out the day for his fourth save of the year. Luigi Albano-Dito, Mac Leisher and Scott Armstrong also saw time on the mound.

HPU will next play Chaminade in a four-game series next weekend, with the first game slated for 6:15 p.m. at CORP.
