MANOA — This one was close for a half.

Then the visitors broke it open in the third.

Hawai’i Pacific was outscored by 11 in the third quarter and dropped its second game to Dominican, 64-51, Saturday night at the Shark Tank.

The Penguins led by as many as 16 points in the second half thanks to an 8-0 run in the third quarter that helped extend their 30-27 halftime lead.

Ella Berge scored 12 points with two triples and Kalina Obrey and Jordyn Jensen each had eight points to lead the Sharks, who fell to 4-8 overall and 2-4 in PacWest play.

Three players scored in double figures for Dominican (13-3, 6-2), who were led by Keyonee Neal’s 16 points.
