Campbell shutout Waianae 7-0 to claim the top spot in the Oahu Interscholastic Association DI West. Taryn Irimata allowed just 2 hits with 6 strikeouts. RF Kaiana Kong led the Sabers’ offense going 3-for-3 with 3 RBI.
University of Hawai’i commit Kai Rodriguez led Moanlua with 11 kills and 3 aces in their sweep over Kaiser (25-19, 25-13, 25-14). Fellow UH commits Zachary Yewchuk had 8 kills and Justin Todd did not play.
Campbell avenged their only loss of the regular season after beating Mililani 50-45 in overtime to claim their first OIA championship in boys basketball. Mizah Carreira led the Sabers with 21 points.
After being down 16 points at the half, Farrington rallied back to defeat Kalani 68-55 in overtime to claim their third OIA DII boys basketball title. Gerald Gallardo led the Governors in scoring with 17 points. Dominique Mose-Smith added 15 points and nabbed 15 rebounds.
Campbell held off Moanalua to win the OIA DI Girls Basketball Championship, 28-22. Julien Parado led the Sabers with 8 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite a furious late charge from the Castle Knights, the Pearl City Chargers held on to win the OIA Division II Girls Basketball Championship, 39-32. Shilee Scanlan led the Chargers with 13 points, 13 rebounds.
