MILILANI — Mililani didn’t need many opportunities to do damage Saturday night.
The Trojans averaged nearly eight yards per play, struck for touchdowns of 21, 33 and 71 yards and kept Kahuku out of the end zone for the entire second half in a 28-6 OIA Open Division victory.

Trojans Find the Explosive Plays
Toa Sam gave Mililani an early advantage with a pair of first-quarter touchdown runs, including a 21-yarder that made it 14-0. But it was the Trojans’ ability to create big plays through the air that helped keep Kahuku from climbing back into the game.
After Lucky Suguturaga connected with Jameel Dowling for Kahuku’s lone touchdown in the second quarter, Mililani answered with Hunter Fujikawa’s 33-yard touchdown pass to Hayden Bajet to take a 21-6 lead into halftime.
The Class of 2028 quarterback, who holds multiple offers from Power 4 programs, completed 12 of 18 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 11.2 yards per attempt.
His biggest connection came in the fourth quarter when Ashton Grace turned a Fujikawa pass into a 71-yard touchdown, putting the game out of reach.
Grace finished with 81 yards on three catches, while Bajet had three receptions for 43 yards.

Mililani Makes More of Its Opportunities
The contrast showed up in the final numbers.
Kahuku ran 57 plays to Mililani’s 49, but the Trojans finished with a 388-246 advantage in total offense and averaged 7.9 yards per play compared to Kahuku’s 4.3.
Sam provided the steady production underneath the explosive passing game, carrying 20 times for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Mililani finished with 187 rushing yards overall.
Kahuku found some success on the ground with 126 yards, but sustained drives were harder to come by. Suguturaga finished 13-of-25 for 120 yards and a touchdown as the Red Raiders were held scoreless after the second quarter.
Mililani improved to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in OIA Open Division play, while Kahuku dropped to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in league play.
