Jasmine Wong etched her name in the history books.

The ‘Iolani Raider became the first-ever individual girls golf state champion after taking home top honors in the David Ishii State Championships at Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course Wednesday afternoon.

Wong was one of three players that had the lowest score in round one while hitting par in round two to secure the win with a score of two over par.

She edged Punahou’s Jessica Lee and Nicole Ikeda by one and two strokes respectively to take gold.

The Buffanblu won their 13th state team title however, which all came in 2007 and after. Lee, Ikeda and Sydney Fuke all hit under par for Punahou in round two as they placed three in the top five and six in the top 20.
