Hawai’i makes quick work of Tusculum to complete series sweep, 25-15, 25-11, 25-7

HONOLULU — The night just kept getting better and better for the Hawai’i men’s volleyball team Sunday.

Keoni Thiim hit .722 and put down a career-high 14 kills as the Rainbow Warriors completed the series sweep of Tusculum with a 25-15, 25-11, 25-7 win at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

Hawai’i tallied 16 total aces in the contest as it notched its seventh straight win to improve to 8-1 on the season.

Middle blocker Kurt Nusterer also had an outstanding performance with six aces, most of which came during an 18-0 run in the third set.

Alaka’i Todd was the next leading attacker after Thiim, posting eight kills in just two sets of work.

Backup setter Kevin Kauling played the final two sets and tallied a match-high 21 assists.
